What this site is
OpenCAD Studio gives the browser build of OpenCADStudio a stable, readable home: a place to launch it full screen, and plain documentation of what it does and does not do. The site itself is a thin wrapper — it did not build the CAD application and does not modify it.
Who builds the application
OpenCADStudio is developed in the open by Hakan Seven and contributors. It is written in Rust, renders through the GPU, and reads and writes DWG and DXF natively from R13 through R2018. The browser build is the project's own published WebAssembly build; this site loads it as published, currently from the upstream project's GitHub Pages site. Desktop builds for Windows, macOS and Linux are available from the upstream repository.
Licence and source
The application is free software under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (licence text in the repository). Its complete corresponding source code is publicly available at github.com/HakanSeven12/OpenCADStudio. That link is the canonical source for the software you run when you press Launch CAD — if you want to study it, build it yourself or fork it, start there.
Affiliations and trademarks
Where this site compares OpenCADStudio to commercial products such as AutoCAD Web, ARES Kudo or SnapCAD, those names are used only to describe compatibility and alternatives. OpenCAD Studiois not affiliated with Autodesk, Gräbert or any other CAD vendor.
