What this site is
OpenCAD Studio gives the browser build of OpenCADStudio a stable, readable home: a place to launch it full screen, and plain documentation of what it does and does not do. Our hosted edition adds an optional connection to private Projects for saving revisions and sharing client links.
Who builds the application
OpenCADStudio is developed in the open by Hakan Seven and contributors. It is written in Rust, renders through the GPU, and reads and writes DWG and DXF natively from R14 through R2018. Our hosted edition builds on upstream version v2026.36. Desktop builds for Windows, macOS and Linux are available from the upstream repository.
Licence and source
The application is free software under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (licence text in the repository). Download the complete source archive for our hosted editor, including the Projects integration, dependency lockfile and build scripts. The original project and its ongoing development are available in the upstream repository. The source archive contains instructions for building and maintaining this edition. Hosted changes include Projects integration, a simpler browser start screen and removal of the automatic donation prompt. Modified 11 September 2026.
